In my opinion this can be eaten any time of the day and yes even breakfast. I have fond childhood memories of eating sambaro at Gujarati weddings for breakfast. This recipe is simple quick moorish and comes packed full of flavour.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp Sunflower Oil
- 4 small Curry leaves
- 1 tsp Black Mustard Seeds
- 1 tsp Jira seeds
- 1 cm cube Ginger
- 2 medium Green Chillies
- 1/2 medium Cabbage
- 2 medium Carrot
- 1 tsp Turmeric
- 1 tsp Salt to taste
- 1 Handful Coriander
- 1/2 medium Lemon
Instructions
- chop carrots and cabbage into thin julienne peal and chop ginger chop green chiilies
- Heat sunflower oil in a pan adding 4 curry leaves black mustard seeds jira seeds till they start popping
- Add ginger 1/2 of your chillies stir till ginger starts to go brown
- Add Carrots Cook for 2 minutes
- Add Cabbage 1 tsp turmeric 1 tsp salt Cook till soft but still with a bite usually 5-7 minutes turn off heat
- Add coriander lemon Stir
- Plate up and garnish with the remaining chillies serve with rotli (flat bread)
