Doodh poha

by bhavesh

Sharad Purnima is a harvest festival celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu lunar month of Ashvin (September to October), marking the end of the monsoon season. On this auspicious day, Deities are offered Doodh Poha which is essentially flattened rice (Poha) soaked in sweetened milk (I use oat milk toto make it vegan) and garnished with dry fruits and nuts. It is believed that the moonlight on Sharad Poornima has special powers and so food is left overnight under moonlight to absorb the moon rays. Here is my simple quick recipe for delicious Doodh Poha.
