Muthiya are a versatile snack that can be made and eaten for a week its a great way to get all you need into one dish. Packed full of flavour and goodness.
1. Soak all the lentils for 3 hours, then drain and rinse 2.Turn on the steamer 3. Put the soaked lentils in a blender 4.Add all the spices and water 5. Mix for a couple of minutes till mixture is finely grounded 6. Now Add cabbage and carrot to the mixture and blend for 30 seconds. 7.Add baking powder and lemon juice 8. Transfer mixture in the 2 8-inch lightly greased trays. 9.Place in steamer for 15 minutes 10. For the 1st layer of garnish - add desiccated coconut and coriander. 11. For the 2nd layer of garnish - heat 1 tsp oil in a small pan, once hot, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds and sesame seeds. 12. To the cooked seeds add 2 tbsp lemon and 2 tbsp water 13. Now pour this mixture over the steamed muthiya 14. Mix the chutney in a blender (e.g. nutribullet) and serve with muthiyaIngredients
